For example, Edgewater has collaborated recently with a large health provider and research institute to design and build a data and technology infrastructure to support their move to personalized medicine. This organization is taking definitive steps to integrate information from macro-level summaries of patient populations down to genomic-level differences in individual patients, in hopes of tailoring treatments for each individual patient. Edgewater has also positioned this integrated health system for high-value collaborations and partnerships with industry, establishing new and immediate sources of research funding, and promoting the creation of economic incubators to exploit novel and emerging sources of their burgeoning knowledge assets.
