Edgewater Technology has discovered that many times students make a decision not to attend an institution based on a lack of or incorrect information about the institution and the academics it has to offer. For example, the prospect did not know there was a good music department or co-curricular activity in which they were interested. Based on the belief that if each prospective student in an institution’s targeted prospect pool knew what the institution had to offer, they would all enroll. In order for an institution to identify the different levels of commitment of each prospective student, institutions should begin to view prospective students in five target groups. The concentric circles to the right represent the target groups we have identified. They include: Identified, Engaged, Applied, Admitted, and Enrolled. The activities of Undergraduate Admissions should be centered on intentionally moving prospects from one circle to the next deepening the target’s level of commitment along the way.
Edgewater believes the best way to accomplish this is by implementing an integrated suite of applications that will enable institutions to effectively plan, schedule and deliver strategies automatically where appropriate in the goal to increase efficiency, therefore increasing the number of prospects who can be individually targeted for communications by the institution. A standard set of strategies; each with a specific target and outcome in mind, is the foundation for sharing information about an institution in a highly personalized manner with targeted groups of students. These students most likely share characteristics you have identified as target student audiences. Edgewater’s approach is to provide a system assembled from a combination of off-the-shelf and custom software to meet an institution’s specific requirements. This approach provides everything the institution desires in a system without paying for software and features it will not use.
Edgewater combines subject matter expertise, technical skills and proven project methodology to assist your institution in strategizing, conceiving, designing, building, and implementing a tailored solution that will convey your institutions unique character to your target prospects.
