Giving Back
Since its inception in 1992, Edgewater has had a proud legacy of community giving. In addition to contributing to a variety of local and state charitable organizations, we remain dedicated to supporting those efforts that promote new ideas through the use of technology. Our activities have included collaborating with local High School programs to provide students who have expressed an interest in Computer and Information Technology with mentoring. The outreach has included onsite tutorials at our Wakefield, MA facility and in online chat forums. By reaching out to students early in the learning process, we are promoting their near- and long-term goals of succeeding.
We also support organizations through sponsorships or by providing our expertise. Examples include:

American Cancer Society The American Cancer Society (ACS) is a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization. Edgewater participates in many events of ACS's Annual Events.

American Lung Association of Arkansas The American Lung Association of Arkansas is a volunteer organization working to promote lung health, keep individuals from smoking and help patients with asthma, especially children.

American Red Cross The American Red Cross helps keep people safe every day as well as in an emergency thanks to caring people who support our work in the community. Edgewater's employees, along with a match contribution from Edgewater, contributed nearly $25,000 to support those who were affected by Hurricane Katrina.

Angel Flight NE Angel Flight NE is a non-profit organization that provides air transportation in private aircraft by volunteer pilots so children and adults may access life saving medical care throughout the United States completely free of charge. Edgewater adopted Angel Flight as its charity in 2001, when our team of IT professionals developed a web-based mission coordination system for Angel Flight. The system automates the matching of willing pilots to flight schedules - an arduous process formerly done manually by telephone, fax or e-mail. This system drove the mobilization of more than 100 volunteer pilots in about two hours in the wake of the September 11 attacks. |

Craig Wood Scholarship Foundation The Craig Wood Scholarship Foundation was established in 2001 in memory of Craig Wood, a former employee of Edgewater Technology who lost his life on December 26, 2000 along with six other vibrant people during a workplace violence incident at Edgewater Technology. In memory of Craig, an annual golf outing, The Annual Craig Wood Classic, takes place to raise funds for an endowment scholarship being administered by Merrimack College for the benefit of a student with financial needs. Edgewater has been a strong supporter of this event since its inception.
