The Commonwealth Institute and the Boston Business Journal hosted the organizations’ Top 100 Women-Led Businesses Awards ceremony on December 1, 2011, at the Westin Copley Square in Boston. These awards celebrate and honor the region’s top women-led businesses. Edgewater placed 13th on the list, improving from 18th on last year’s list. Annual rankings are based upon total Company revenue.

“I look forward to this yearly event because I believe it is truly an honor to be included among an impressive list of women leaders,” commented Shirley Singleton, Chairman, President and CEO of Edgewater. “This year’s event included a panel on leadership. I was thrilled to participate as a panelist, and hope the attendees benefited from the lively and candid discussions.”

Acknowledgements include: previous recognition as one of the “Top 100 Woman-Led Businesses in Massachusetts,” and being named in Boston Magazine’s “Top 100 Powerful Women in the Boston area.” Ms. Singleton is a graduate of Northeastern University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Education and she has also received a Doctorate of Humane Letters from Endicott College.
